Where is it?

So, AutoNeurotica has been kept around a long time. I've been writing about the foibles and neurosis of drivers since well before I moved to Texas. However, the site really never took off. It was a Geocities site at first, then I think Tripod hosted some pages, then finally Blogger. The only reason I eventually chose to move it here was because of the Life In Austin page and I felt that if Mrs. Austin was posting there more, this would be more my sanctuary.

Well, this pretty much turned into a dead dog rather quickly. I found that getting mad and ranting about drivers didn't have the staying power I thought it would. Originally I felt that it'd be a perpetual source of material. As long as there are vehicles to drive, there will be people who drive them poorly.

Problem is, after so many posts about people not using their turn signals or merging with any panache, you start to lose interest. And when the writer gets bored, the readers must be bored of it. So I'm thinking of ways to recreate this site. I love the title, I just wish I could find something better to go with it.

To that end I may in fact start you on a journey about the possibility of a new hybrid vehicle.

That's right, I'm on a waiting list for a 2005 Toyota Prius. I got on the list in March of '04 and they said it'd be 13 months before I got it. Now that's all fine and dandy because I'm going to need another month to save up for the down payment.

Before you go giving me a hard time for being a hippie tree-hugger, let me clue you in on something. I'm not in this for the environment as much as I am the mileage. I'm tired of paying 25 bucks to go less than 300 miles. My Kia gets horrendous mileage and I'm tired of it.

The environmental impact is a nice feature, let's just leave it at that. If they made hybrid SUVs that got the same mileage, I'd buy one, but they don't. Not with any success.

So, that's it. As far as this page goes, you may see some Prius updates, but that may go on LIA as well, so I still don't know what to do here. Oh well. I may just buy the domain name and hope someone wants it more than me.
