Stuck in traffic today I noticed the car in front of me had a Colorado Avalanche bumper sticker. Today I'm wearing my Avs jersey and I did everything I could to let this person know I was a fellow fan, short of taking of my shirt and waving it around outside. I wanted them to know I was also rooting for our team and I found it heartening that there was another fan of hockey, not to mention my favorite team, in Texas. Shouldn't they be rooting for the Stars? Maybe it's another Colorado native transplanted here like me? I should try to get their attention. I should try to figure out how they feel about living here. Do they miss the snow? Do they like the trees here?

So after passing them several times and not making any eye contact with my arm overtly hanging out the window to show off the blue and red sleeve with the CCM on the cuff, I gave up. They moved on and I was not able to make the connection.

I need to invent reverse bumper stickers so people can see them in their rear view mirror. I suppose that would cause fender-bending to increase if people are trying to read something behind them, but I'd like others to know that I'm an Avs Fan, Pro Choice, Jesus/Darwin Lover who voted for Al Gore if they're in front of me as well as behind. I think the front of the car needs some love too.

I sure do after getting co-hockey-fan blue balls.
